I want to introduce my first mix on the right note. I’ve spent quite a bit of time working on this project and I wanted my taste and ability to really come through on this one. The overall theme is nu-disco, one of my favorite genres at the moment. If you are unfamiliar with the genre, I can best describe it as having the traditional components of classic disco, such as the orchestral elements and heavily synthesized sounds throughout. But with a new twist such its repetitive vocals and intertwined samples. In my opinion and experience, a good DJ should be able to make people move, and that is exactly what nu-disco achieves. It is the perfect sound to groove to no matter the place or time. I’m happy to be able to share my mix with all of you Hue readers before anyone else, I hope that you enjoy it, and that it makes you boogie down in your seat a little bit!
